Proofread Your Sweaters
When Typos Are Funny
In the spirit of the holiday season, this month I bring you a silly typo.
This sweater belongs to my husband, who loves to watch Hallmark Christmas movies. Funnily enough, I was the one who bought it. I was so excited when I found it while doing some online shopping that I didn’t notice the misspelled “waching” until it arrived in the mail.
In my defense, the image in the photo was rather small. Also, I wasn’t in proofreading mode when I bought it. Who proofreads sweaters?! Apparently no one at the company that made this.
When it arrived, I saw the error immediately. I was a mix of annoyed and amused, but now it’s a family joke. When it comes time for the sweater to be worn, we all pronounce “watching” more like “washing.”
Rest assured, when I proofread for my clients, I am fully in proofreading mode. Maybe I should offer my services to whoever produced this gem.
If you’ll be waching any holiday movies this month, I hope you enjoy them as much as my family enjoys laughing about this sweater. 😊

Check It Out: Word Nerd Day
Word Nerd Day is coming up on January 9. In celebration of my love for language, I bring you a word I learned this year while reading The Boys in the Boat (which I really enjoyed).
Windrow: noun. A row of hay raked up to dry before being baled or stored.
You may not have occasion to use that very often, but now you know.

Something You Might Not Know About Me…
I love playing games of all kinds. I’m planning to enjoy some over the holidays with my fam. I even made one of my own this year. Hoping it goes over well – good prizes should help! 🎁
